With sets at Sensation White in Melbourne on NYE, the Ministry of Sound Festival on NYD and then playing to over 6000 people at Summerfieldayze it has been an amazing year for the Australian 4 DJ – Baby Gee.
His hectic tour schedule has taken him across the country, playing clubs in Sydney, Melbourne, Darwin and up and down the East Coast to massive audiences week after week. He has just finished another crazy festival season with sets at Goodvibrations, V-Fest & Future Music Festival, where he played the warm up set for Swedish House Mafia dons Steve Angello & Sebastien Ingrosso on the Future Music Main Stage. Add to that launch parties for brands PUMA & Vodafone and his weekly residencies @ Super Club Family and Monastery and it’s little wonder why the kids are screaming for more!
On the production front he’s been hard at work in the studio writing and remixing amongst the heavy gig schedule. Pushing a new sound, his big room house remix of ‘Is It Cold?’ by Australian number 1 DJ Tydi went straight into the ARIA Top 50 club chart, and supported by DJ’s and producers around Australia and the world. Charted by house heavy weight D.O.N.S and included in the nationwide Ministry of Sound Radio Show on NOVA FM, it held strong in the charts for 11 weeks and reached the 30 spot at the beginning of May.
Continuing on from it’s success, Baby Gee has signed with Bass Kleph’s label Vacation Records to release his big room house monster “Only a Day”. It’s due out in October (including ‘Zulu’, an underground tech-house B-side) and just in time for his Spring tour – ‘The New Sound Tour’ where he plans to share with clubbers his take on the future sounds of house.
So with a massive end of year schedule already planned, more remixes and singles on the way, playing alongside the world’s 1 DJ Armin Van Buuren at his Brisbane show in June and a National Tour kicking off in later in the year, the rest of 09 is looking to be even bigger and better for one of Australia’s finest artists, Baby Gee.
