Supporting international deejays week in week out, playing every major festival that comes to town and touring every single month isn’t an easy task, but for Saturdays @ Family Main Room resident – Habebe, it’s just another year in the work schedule of this DJ/Producer.
He has built a strong and loyal following with Family punters in Brisbane through his huge support sets for guests like Deadmau5, Steve Angello & Sebastian Ingrosso, Dirty South, Axwell, Laidback Luke, Roger Sanchez, Goodwill, The Potbelleez & Kid Kenobi and delivering monster closing sets that have kept Brisbane punters locked to the dance floor til 5am every Saturday night for the past 4 years.
As one of a select few Brisbane DJs who garners as much respect from the underground clubbing fraternity as he does from the dance music mainstream, due in part to his upfront track selection and his unwavering dedication to the big room house & progressive sounds, he is widely regarded as one of Brisbane’s hardest working DJ’s he has been awarded for his success and was voted #5 DJ in Qld in 2006 & #8 in QLD & #37 DJ in Australia in 2007 in the ITM50 DJ Poll.
This festival season has been insane for Habebe, with solid bookings through the entire summer. Sharing the Family Love and playing his signature Saturdays @ Family style of future house he rocked crowds all over QLD. With closing sets at Summerfieldayze to over 5000 people, Main Stage @ BBQ Beats New Years Day, plus playing at Stereosonic, Goodvibrations + After Party @ Family Closing for Deadmau5, Future Music Festival and Vfest it’s not a surprise the kids are coming back play.
Last year saw the launch of his Artist Agency – Late Night Addiction (with fellow Brisbane Artist – Baby Gee), so he’s set to take it to the next level in 2009. With his weekly residencies, plans to tour overseas again later this year, interstate appearances and regular guest spots around town, more remixes and originals tracks & a radio show on the way, it’s looking to be another busy year for this Family favourite.
